This summer the Gold Medal Squared Volleyball Camp will be held at Sunnyslope High School July 28th - July 31st. The camp runs from Monday to Thursday, 8:30 to 5:30. Acclaimed college Volleyball coaches from all over the west will be be the session leaders and provide quality instruction. The price of the clinic $225.00 and it fills up fast. The 10th annual Sunnyslope High School ‘Chip in for Education’ golf tournament will be held Saturday, May 3rd, starting at 1pm. The proceeds support programs on the Sunnyslope campus. For more information on times, costs, and sponsorships please view and download the golf flier.

Sunnyslope Boys Basketball, the fifth seeded team, will open the first round of the 4A-I state playoffs with a home opener against Canyon Del Oro High School out of Tucson, this Tuesday, February 12th, starting at 7:00pm. CDO is seeded 12th in the AIA Power Point Ratings. You can see the Power Point Ratings by clicking on the AIAonline.org and go to Power Points

The price of admission for the game is Five Dollars for everyone. Sorry, the SHS activity cards and parent passes will not be accepted due to this is a state playoff game.

The Sunnyslope dance classes will hold a fundraiser starting next Tuesday the 13th. The proceeds will go to offset costs for the recital to be held December 13th and 14th.

The Western Sky Region Swimming Championships will be held at the Moon Valley Country Club pool Friday, October 12th with the preliminary rounds beginning at 1 pm. The top 16 swimmers from their event will then compete Saturday in the finals and consolation races, also starting at 1 pm.

The Sunnyslope Vikings Girls Volleyball team camp starts this Monday July 30th to August 2nd. Team members must be there by 8:00 am to help setup. The camp schedule is from Monday - Thursday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Tryouts start August 6th through August 8th 3:00 to 5:30 pm. Please make sure that you have all your paperwork completed before you start practice. The season schedule is being finalized and will be posted soon.

The Tri-Star Boys Basketball Day Camps are getting ready for the summer camp season. The camps, run by 4A Region coaches of the year Howard Mueller of Greenway High School and Dan Mannix of Sunnyslope High School. There are two sessions of 3 groups. Group A is for grades 10-12, Group B for grades 7-9, and Group C for grades 2 - 6. Session one runs from June 4 - June 22 and Session 2 runs from June 25th to July 13th. The camps will be held at Greenway and Sunnyslope High Schools. You can download the camp brochure for more information.

The Sunnyslope Vikings Volleyball team, the number one ranked 4A-II team all season, lived up to its yearlong standing by defeating Page High School to take home the 4A-II state championship trophy on Saturday. To get to the finals, the Vikings defeated a tough Flagstaff team in 3 games in the morning semifinals. Sunnyslope was the only team in the state to go undefeated this season. Their 41-0 record is the best in record in Arizona history. Moon Valley High School was the last school to go undefeated but their 34 -0 record did not reach the number of victories that Sunnyslope had this season. Congratulations to Coaches LeTarte and Gramm and the Girls volleyball team on an outstanding season in taking home the 4A-II state championship.

Final state playoff bracket results

The Viking Girls Volleyball team advanced to the State 4A-II Playoff Semi-Finals with a victory over a scrappy Apache Junction team in the quarter finals 25-8, 25-14, 25-18. The team now travels to Chandler Hamilton High School to play Flagstaff High in the Semi-Finals starting at 9 am this Saturday. Click here to check out the 4A-II tournament brackets.

The Sunnyslope Vikings Football team advanced to the 4A-II state playoffs by way of there fine 7-4 record this year. They travel to Tuscon to battle the Titans from Palo Verde High School. Click here for instructions to Palo Verde High School. Game time is set for 7:00 pm this Friday. If you are planning to go, tickets can only be purchased at Palo Verde the day of the game. Ticket prices are $5.00 at the door.

The top ranked 4A-II Sunnyslope Vikings volleyball team, after what they consider an eternity, are finally ready to get the state playoffs underway. It has been over a week since most of the 4A conference last played a match. 

The last match the Vikings played was last Friday as they defeated Notre Dame Prep in the finals of the Wells Fargo II region tournament. Along the way the Vikings posted an undefeated regular season (36-0), three Tournament Championships, and the Wells Fargo II region championship.
The Lady Vikings dominated post-season region honors. The All-Wells Fargo II region 1st team was led by region MVP Emma Ridley. She was joined on the 1st team by setter Katie Meyers, and specialist Sarah Johnson. Second team honors went to Middle Cassandra Burruel, and outside Caelin Hiller. Jessie Listar-Guest and Laurann Durbin round out the all-region team as they made Honorable Mention.

The second season starts Tuesday at Sunnyslope when the Lady Vikings, the number one seed, take on Douglas High School, the 16th seed, at Sunnyslope starting at 7:00 pm. Click here to view playoff brackets
